TRIHEALTH BETHESDA NORTH
LABOR AND DELIVERY ROOM
Cincinnati, Ohio

Bethesda North Maternity Department added a new Labor and Delivery Room by renovating two Ante-Partum Rooms. This project provided a prototypical Labor and Delivery Room; hospital staff anticipates renovation of the other eleven Labor and Delivery Rooms to meet this new standard. The design process for this project was collaborative effort including physicians, nurses, design staff, and a site visit to Hill-Rom for a Room-Builder Session.

Interior features include a headwall unit designed to conceal medical gas and emergency electrical outlets, infant monitoring, and staff charting stations, a footwall unit to conceals labor and delivery equipment and supplies, and finishes selected to facilitate the Healing Environment, implementing warm colors, pleasant lighting and subtle definition of family zones and clinical zones within the room.

The spaces were designed to meet the Ohio Department of Health regulations, and AIA Guidelines.
